Outdoor dining. Drinks by the water. Live music, rooftop movies, art shows and DJs. This is what summer in the city is made of, and the Seaport is your hub for it all. Here’s a taste of what’s on in and around the neighborhood over the coming weeks and months.
Sweat it out at free group classes at Seaport Square or on the Heineken Riverdeck.
Lyons Den Power Yoga classes are a great way to kick off your weekends on Saturday mornings. During the week, try Pure Barre or strength and conditioning with our newest instructors Stepbrothers NYC (Tuesday nights); and master boxing-inspired moves with HIIT The Deck on Thursday nights. Seaport Fit reservations release monthly. RSVP now.
Come for happy hour, dinner or a stroll around the neighborhood and enjoy a summer soundtrack by the city’s top DJs. Our Seaport Sounds sessions take place on the Heineken Riverdeck on Thursday nights and weekend afternoons, and on the cobblestones of Fulton Street on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. DJs also spin during Sunday brunch at The Greens, and on Monday and Tuesday nights, you can catch live performances by local musicians in various spots in the neighborhood.
Catch emerging artists on the rise and dive into NYC’s past. Gallery shows in the neighborhood this summer include SEEN at SN37 Gallery and The Birth of Punk at The Corner. Don’t miss Tom Fruin’s colorful plexiglass and steel houses—two of the Brooklyn-based artist’s installations are open on Seaport Square and at the northeast corner of the Heineken Riverdeck. There are also art exhibitions for kids of all ages at the South Street Seaport Museum this summer—Exploring our Waters with Eric Carle features a discovery room and huge murals of scenes from Carle’s books A House for Hermit Crab and 10 Little Rubber Ducks. Check our Seaport Arts page for hours and info on all of this season’s public art and exhibitions.
Nothing says summer like a movie on the rooftop. Seaport Cinema is back on The Rooftop at Pier 17 with a lineup of blockbuster and indie films—and an unbeatable backdrop of the East River and Brooklyn Bridge. Reservations for each movie open two weeks prior to the screening date. Seaport Cinema is free, but space is limited so RSVPs are encouraged, and it’s a good idea to arrive early to secure your spot.
The Summer Concert Series
Live music and panoramic views? Yes, please. The 2022 Summer Concert Series on The Rooftop at Pier 17 is in full swing, and there’s something for everyone on the lineup that includes Flogging Molly & The Interrupters, Bikini Kill, 5 Seconds of Summer, Jason Mraz & Raining Jane, Elvis Costello & The Imposters, Franz Ferdinand, Blondie & The Damned. Check out the full lineup, and premium ticket options in The Heineken Green Zone, at Ticketmaster.
Need a wardrobe refresh? Browse the latest collections at Scotch & Soda and Mure + Grand, or opt for something custom at Christian Benner or The Shoe Surgeon. Also new to the neighborhood is Club Vintage, a hand-vetted collection of vintage finds from clothing to furniture and home décor, and The Canvas, a retail experience showcasing ethical clothing, accessories and lifestyle goods by independent brands from around the globe. Check out their bright new retail space on South Street. For an outdoor shopping experience, stop by Hester Street Fair, located on Seaport Square, or Fulton Stall Outdoor Market on South Street.
