Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten first came to New York City in 1986, when the Fulton Fish Market still stood on the site of what is now The Tin Building, the Seaport’s newest destination for drinking, dining, snacking, shopping, learning and savoring the most mouthwatering ingredients the city has to offer.
As Jean-Georges introduces The Tin Building’s collection of new eateries to NYC this fall, he paused to reflect on his early days in the city — and share the story of how his seafood restaurant, The Fulton, came to be.
