Summer Dining in the Seaport: Spacious, Delicious and Socially Distanced

Summer Dining in the Seaport: Spacious, Delicious and Socially Distanced

With pedestrian-friendly streets, fresh air and plenty of space, the Seaport District is the perfect place in NYC for socially distanced outdoor dining this summer. Enhanced safety precautions in place throughout the neighborhood provide peace of mind; historic settings and panoramic Brooklyn Bridge views are the icing on the cake.

The Greens
Your own patch of paradise on The Rooftop

Forget cars whizzing by as you try to enjoy a meal at a sidewalk table. The Greens—the newest pop-up on The Rooftop at Pier 17—is the perfect solution to the question, “how can I eat out safely while still having fun?”

With a bird’s eye view of the Brooklyn Bridge and East River, The Greens is made up of 28 custom-designed mini lawns, each measuring 14 foot by 14 foot and decked out with a sun umbrella, cabana-style seats, a Yeti cooler and USB port for your devices.

Dining summer picnic-style will help you make up for lost sunshine, plus you and your friends can battle it out with Giant Jenga ordered right to your mini lawn.

Fresh air, green space, golden hour cocktails and mouthwatering summer bites—there’s no place for socially distanced dining in NYC quite like it. Take a peek at the menu, reserve your mini lawn and learn more about the health and safety measures in place at The Greens here. New dates are released every Monday morning around 10am.

Cobble & Co.
Summer classics on the cobblestones

Comfort food has gotten us through months of quarantine and we have no intention of quitting the deliciousness now. So it’s a good thing Cobble & Co.’s go-to burgers, wings, nachos and hearty salads are back, along with shakes and summer beverages, and a few new menu items to celebrate the restaurant’s reopening. Even better: you can now enjoy your favorite all-American classics on Cobble & Co’s expanded patio space on the pedestrian-only blocks of Fulton and Front streets in the heart of the historic Seaport District.

Malibu Farm New York
Farm-to-table favorites on the pier

Tis the season for fish tacos, vegan chopped salads and refreshing, freshly juiced drinks—and the best way to savor it all is alfresco on the pier. Make the most of summer dining at Malibu Farm, now reopened at Pier 17, with even more breezy patio space to accommodate seamless social distancing. Dining responsibly comes with a bonus here, too—views of the East River and a backdrop of the Brooklyn Bridge. It’s a quintessentially NYC setting for Helene Henderson’s California-fresh fare, and the perfect place to reconnect (safely) with all things local.

Historic Front Street
Eat like a Seaport local

Outdoor dining is a lot more enjoyable in low-traffic areas, and the cobblestones of Front Street are now even more pedestrian-friendly, with expanded outdoor seating at locals’ favorites like Barbalu, Made Fresh Daily and SuTeiShi, all on Front between Beekman and Peck Slip. This bustling block is also home to great spots for socially distanced summer drinks like Dorlan’s and Jeremy’s Ale House. A couple of blocks away, on Front between Fulton and John streets, by CHLOE is serving up its signature plant-based burgers, bites, salads and sweets.

The Heineken Riverdeck
For easy-breezy breaks by the water

Spending time by the water does so much for the soul, and we’re glad that locals and visitors have been able to enjoy the waterfront areas of Pier 17 to help soothe quarantine fatigue. The Heineken Riverdeck offers some of the most picturesque outdoor space in NYC, with plenty of public-access seating and a front-row view of the Brooklyn Bridge. Come down for a stroll, a dose of sunshine, and to enjoy the cool breeze. Beer, non-alcoholic drinks and snacks are available for purchase from a kiosk on the Riverdeck.
