The Seaport District’s Most Splurge-Worthy Dishes

The Seaport District’s Most Splurge-Worthy Dishes

What to order when you’re celebrating, splurging or simply looking for the best of the best in downtown dining this winter (and beyond).

THE FULTON

It’s easy to wow with seafood specialties and drop-dead gorgeous East River views. And hard to go wrong when choosing a dish from a menu from The Fulton’s Jean-Georges Vongerichten. The Seafood Plateau or the Whole Black Sea Bass en Croute, however, are the way to go for maximum drama. The sea bass in pastry dish was featured on a recent episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers and made The New York Times food critic Pete Wells’ list of Top 10 New York Dishes of 2019, so don’t just take our word for it.

MALIBU FARM

At a restaurant known for its farm-to-table, no-fuss, all-fresh food, is there such a thing as ordering a guilty pleasure? Going all out at Malibu Farm means ordering absolutely anything on the menu, from the New York Apple Coconut Baked French Toast to the Paprika Roasted Half Chicken. Brunch is a great time to order up a feast and share the spread with your favorite humans.

BAR WAYŌ

Bar Wayō’s vibe may be unpretentious but its drinks-forward menu of food, beer, wine, sake and cocktails is ambitious—and delicious. You can share a mix of small plates, or go full baller with the 30-day dry-aged Bone-in Ribeye. Another way to splurge? Order the Half Smothered Royale omelet and level up with foie gras on top. For something hearty to warm your wintry soul, try the Clam Chowder, another Pete Wells pick of the past year.

COBBLE & CO.

With a focus of comfort food and American classics, Cobble & Co. defines the term “go all out” while remaining warm and approachable. Pretty much everything on the menu here is a treat, but if you need some help navigating the delicious menu, might we suggest the Steakhouse Burger, with Wagyu Beef, Gorgonzola Cheese and Bacon, or The Beast, with Buffalo Fried Chicken, Triple Beef Patty, Bacon, Braised Short Rib, Guacamole and Cheddar Cheese? Milkshakes, signature cocktails, sundaes and cakes provide a sweet finish to your savory extravaganza.

For more delicious winter dining and imbibing options, head to R17 on The Rooftop at Pier 17, or to one of the many excellent bars and restaurants we call our neighbors here in the Seaport.
