About
Daisies
FEB 12 – APRIL 30
Daisies presents a range of multidisciplinary work that speaks to resilience of youth culture and the building of community. The name Daises drew inspiration from the vibrantly wrought cult-classic 1966 film “Daisies,” where through a series of disparate episodes, two existentially disillusioned women engage in revelrous and anarchic behavior. The film was part of the Czechoslovak New Wave whose goals were to challenge social and political pressures at the time — and its director, VERA CHYTILOVA was the movement’s sole female member (and the country’s first female director).
