The Seaport Gives Back
Turkey. Stuffing. Community. It’s been a tough year, and it’s important to take care of our neighbors during difficult times.
On Tuesday November 23, the Seaport culinary teams came together to give back. The restaurants at Pier 17 cooked up a meal of turkey, stuffing, Brussels sprouts, sweet potatoes, and cookies along with all the fixings. Over 40 volunteers prepared over 1,000 Thanksgiving meals that will go to those in need in the Downtown community – Section 8 family and senior housing, NYCHA public housing, and the Seward Park Extension NYCHA public housing.
The Howard Hughes Corporation was joined by members of the Creative Culinary Management team, NoHo Hospitality Group, and Chefs Jean-Georges Vongerichten (The Fulton), Andrew Carmellini (Carne Mare, Mister Dips), and Helene Henderson (Malibu Farm) for a day of cooking and preparing meals.
Special thanks to our partners, Vision Urbana, who assisted in delivering the meals, New York-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital for donating 1000 bottles of hand sanitizer, and Pepsi for donating 1000 bottles of water.
The Seaport wishes you and yours a very happy and healthy Thanksgiving.
